2012-2014
Two-year contract supporting Sidel packaging capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region, with extensive travel, consulting on stretch blow moulding.
In-house designer generating bottle design proposals for new and upgrade products to suit Sidel high speed blow moulding machinery. Based out of Bangkok, and travelling frequently every 2-3 weeks to meet with customers across the Asia-Pacific region. Translating customer requests along with marketing brief into feasible and aesthetic designs, to supplement mould sales and Sidel service offering. Working closely with the French and Chinese technology centres to refine and produce optimised containers for weight, mechanical performance and shelf-life.
Working swiftly with pen & paper, to sketch ideas, work into a proposal and add supporting 3D concept models/imagery, often overnight to enable highly efficient face-to-face meetings with high level teams for multi-national companies, such as Asahi and Pepsi. Close consultation directly with decision makers enabled a strong brief and good direction to be agreed upon and sent back to Sidel designers in France, China and Mexico, for their design teams to translate the brief further into design options, suiting the customer expectations.
Highly technical design understanding for processing and specific production machine/line configurations. Support and education for sales teams. Presentations at conferences. Deep understanding and tight collaboration with colleagues.
